One of the things everyone who owns a car must do is maintain it.If you choose to not maintain your car regularly you will end up having expensive auto repairs for your car.If you really make it a habit of not paying attention to it, you will probably fail a smog check. With the consequences of failing a smog check also comes auto repair costs that will be expensive. Or you might face the possibility of not being allowed to drive your car.  So we are going to look at a couple of things you must do to make sure you don’t have these things happen to you.

First of all as stated earlier in the last paragraph you have to do a good job of maintaing your car.  All my clients of my auto repair San Diego shop I stress to them how important it is to bring their car in regularly.What regular maintenance of your car does, is it allows us to find problems before it is too late.And like most things including auto problems, the sooner it is fixed, the less you will have to pay.

Another thing I stress is to make sure they change their oil regularly.  Failing to do that is sometimes the root cause of why my clients fail in my smog test San Diego service shop.But if they are diligent in making sure to do this one thing, their car will be in better shape.On top of that, when you have an engine that is well oiled, it lasts longer.

Finally the part of the car that is overlooked a lot of the times are the brakes.  This is one part of the car that is always used but often overlooked.  Whenever a customer of mine brings in a car to my San Diego brake shop it is sometimes one of the most expensive repairs.So I make it a point that they understand what needs to be done to take better care of it.  Doing things like keeping it’s fluids level correct will help.

So those are a few things that are something you can do to help you not have expensive auto repair charges.Plus it will also make it easier to pass your next smog check.
